The invention relates to an external protection device for screening against sunlight and frost and which can be fitted over the transparent parts of parked vehicles. It is made up of an isolating panel (1) fitted with straps (2) whose length can be adjusted and which terminate in fastening means (3) which fix the said panel and keep it secured to the vehicle when the latter is stationary. This protection device according to the invention is designed to be used on driven or towed motor vehicles but may also have applications in the industrial, domestic or tertiary sectors. <IMAGE>
