The lifting mechanism is used for hoisting or lowering agricultural implements. It consists of a hydraulic ram and a spring element to cushion the weight of the implement. The spring is adjustable with the aid of a tensioning cylinder. The spring (37) with its tensioning cylinder (34) bridges the ram cylinder and piston (30,33) through its connection at one end with the ram cylinder (30) and at the other end with the piston rod (33).
