Dispensing device for drug delivery has a system for releasing a measured amt. of medicament with a pre load which is capable of actuating the system to its delivery condition. Resisting pneumatic force is applied to prevent actuation of the delivery system and a release device is capable of releasing the pneumatic force to allow the pre load to actuate the system to dispense the medicament. Pressurised inhalation aerosol (25) with the valve (40) as the delivery system and a spring (80) pref. acts on the aerosol container to bias the valve (40) to the open condition, but the bias is resisted by the pneumatic pressure in chamber (130) formed between a piston like container (20) for the aerosol and the outer housing (5). The pneumatic pressure in chamber (130) is released when inhalation of air by the patient from air inlet (105) through mouthpiece (95) moves vane (110) to release valve (125). |
