Processing stabilizers for polymeric materials e.g. polyolefins, especially alpha -polyolefins, comprise a) one or more phosphonites of formula I <IMAGE> wherein R, R1, are organic radicals and m and n are 0 or 1 and Y is -O-, -S-, -CHR5- or -C6H4- b) a one or more nitrogen atoms containing guard agent and optionally c) a compound of formula II <IMAGE> wherein R1, R3, are organic radicals and n and na are 0 or 1, and optionally d) a compound of formula IV and/or V R7(OH) (IV> R8(OH)2 (V), wherein R7 and R8 are organic radicals. The guard agent (b) in the claims is N, N, N', N<1>-tetrakis (2'-hydroxypropyl)ethylene diamine.
