Medicinal X=ray tube - has titanium@ window of thickness giving filtration effect within closely defined limits

The X-ray tube has vacuum housing contg. anode and cathode, with titanium outlet window for the rays from the former. The window thickness is such as to give filtration effect not noticeably above or below 0.03mm, molybdenum-equivalent for mammography with molybdenum-anode tube at 40kV or less. The corresp. effect for other tubes varies from 0.5mm aluminium equivalent for mamography to 4.00mm aluminium equivalent for cranial and dental work, dependent on voltage and distance from the skin. VH720-solder can be used to join the window to the housing. ADVANTAGE - Provides min. weakening of rays on emergence from tube.
