In a punching unit for punching apparatus having a punch removably mounted on the upper half side (13) of a support section (1) formed nearly in a @-letter shape such that the punch (3) will face a die (2) mounted on the lower half (12) side of the support section (1), and a lifting mechanism (6) for vertically moving the punch (3), a flat force-cutting blade (31) is attached at the bottom end of the punch (3) rotatably mounted on the support section (1), and a lifting mechanism (6) is provided in the support section (1) to turn the punch (3) through an angle of 90 degrees.
