A sealing, trimming or finishing strip (5), such as for mounting on an edge flange defining the frame of a closable opening in a motor vehicle body, comprises a channel-shaped extruded material (6) incorporating an embedded metal carrier (8) and defining inwardly directed sealing and gripping lips (10). In addition, a barrier seal (12), which is of triangular shape in cross-section and made of cellular material softer than material (6), is mounted adjacent the mouth of the channel. Because of its configuration and shape, the barrier seal (12) is able to follow abrupt changes in the thickness of the mounting flange, and thus prevents ingress of moisture or draughts which might otherwise be caused by such abrupt changes which may be bridged-across by the lips (10). <IMAGE> |
