PURPOSE:To make controlling of holding the surface temperature of a durm at a predetermined value highly accurate by making a temperature detecting element contact with the surface of a photosensitive drum, and detects temperature. CONSTITUTION:While a photosensitive drum 1 is not rotating, a temperature detecting element 5 is contacted with the surface of the drum 1 to be temperature detected. When the current temperature of the drum surface is set lower than a set value, an electric power source is supplied to heaters 3, 3' by a control circuit to heat the drum 1. When the surface temperature reaches the set temperature, the power supply to the heaters 3, 3' is turned OFF. In this way, the surface temperature of the drum 1 is kept at the set value. |
