PURPOSE:To provide side blocks having their respective stay bases which may be vertically lined up, by a method wherein a stay, tapered off, is projected from the central part of a block body having a front formed in a pentagon, and a stay base at the forward end of the stay is expanded in a longitudinally-elongated rectangle in a manner that it is displaced from the central part toward an oblique side. CONSTITUTION:The front of a side block body 1 is formed in the shape of a pentagon combined with a longitudinally-elongated oblong and an equilateral triangle. An engaging projection line 1' is protruded on the apex part at the upper end of an oblique side thereof, and a groove 1'' is provided in the remaining part of the oblique side except the projection line 1'. A stay 2, tapered off, is formed in a protruding manner from the central part of the back of the side block body 1, and a stay base 3 at the forward end of the stay is expanded in the shape of a longitudinally-elongated rectangle in a manner that it is displaced from the central part of the side block body 1 toward the oblique side. When the side blocks A are bonded together to the side of a retaining wall, the stay base 3 of the side block A and the stay bases of the ordinary blocks are vertically lined up to form a self-support structure, resulting in the possibility to build a solid retaining wall. |
