FILTER MEDIUM HAVING PLEATING PROPERTY AND FIRE RETARDANT PROPERTY

PURPOSE:To obtain a filter medium which has good unitizing aptitude, namely good pleating properties (stiffness) and fire retardant characteristics and also excellent dust retaining properties and is capable of exhibiting good filtration performance in a range over a long period. CONSTITUTION:A filter medium is constituted of a nonwoven fabric in which at least three fibers of extremely fine short fiber having diameter of single yarn fiber smaller than 10mum, 30-80wt.% self-welding fiber and 10-50wt.% fire retardant organic fiber having >=25 LOI value are bonded with each other by the self-welding fiber and bending resistance is regulated to >=100mm.
