PURPOSE:To obtain high developed color density by weak heat energy by forming an intermediate layer between the support and thermal color forming layer of a thermal recording material using an emulsion prepared by dispersing an org. solvent having a specific b.p. in aqueous coating based on a water-soluble binder. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material used in a printer for facsimile communication is formed by providing a thermal color forming layer based on an electron donating dye and a developer on a support. In this case, an intermediate layer is formed between the support and the thermal color forming layer using an emulsion prepared by dispersing a water-insoluble org. solvent with a b.p. of 100-250 deg.C in aqueous paint based on a water-soluble binder or the water-soluble binder and pigment. For example, this intermediate layer is formed by coating fine paper with a xylene emulsion prpared by compounding 125g of xylene with 400g of a 50% casein aqueous solution under heating and drying the emulsion layer to form a film wherein fine voids are generated in xylene removed parts. |
