PURPOSE:To obtain a new compound useful treating gynecological disease, osteoporosis, prostatic carcinoma, prostatic hypertrophy, etc. CONSTITUTION:A compound shown by the formula. The compound is obtained by culturing a fungus belonging to the genus Scedosporium apiospermum or a variant thereof, fungus F26,263 strain in a nutrient-containing medium under an aerobic condition. Physical and chemical properties BE-26,263. White amorphous solid or crystal. Molecular formula: C38H38O14. Specific rotatory power: [alpha]D<20>=-24.3 deg. (C=0.983, methanol). Solubility: soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, ethyl acetate and chloroform and insoluble in water and n-hexane. Acidity. Color reaction: positive in potassium permanganate reaction. Strongly antagonizing bond of estrodiol acceptor, showing antagonist activity but not antagonizing bond of progesterone acceptor. |
