PURPOSE:To provide an oxidation catalyst having high adhesion strength and large specific surface area to purify malodorous components for deodorization with low cost, and give a method to manufacture the catalyst efficiently. CONSTITUTION:An oxidation catalyst is composed of ceramic fibers, a zeolite fine powder carried on the surfaces and gaps of the fibers and a catalyst sheet 2 consisting of gold and metal oxide of iron, and has a plurality of ventilation holes 3 by forming it into a honeycomb shape. Since the zeolite fine powder and gold and metal oxide of iron are able to be put in the inner voids in a net structure of the ceramic fibers, the active surface area can be made large and the adhesion strength of the catalytic components is improved, and thus a catalyst having high activity is obtained with no need of complicated carrying process. |
