摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To improve endurance, safety, resistance against cavitation and thermal condictivity by constituting a thermal resistor with a non-crystal material containing two elements such as Ir and Al composed at a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:A non-single crystal Ir-Al material containing essential components, Ir and Al composed at a ratio of 54 atomic% <=Ir<=95 atomic% and 5 atomic% hAl<=46 atomic% provides the best suitability of a thermal resistor to an ink jet head. The thermal resistor of this material demonstrate a high thermal conductivity to ink as a thermal energy generated is allowed to act on the ink directly. An electricity/heat conversion element having a thermal resistor layer 103 and electrodes 104, 105 is formed on a support consisting of a lower layer 103 which is formed on the surface of a substrate 101. Thus the electricity/-heat conversion element is part of the ink jet head. In addition, a protecting layer 106 which covers at least, electrodes 104, 105 of the electricity/heat conversion element is laminated and further, a grooved plate 107 where a recessed part for providing a flow path communicating with a discharge orifice 108 is formed, is junctioned to the surface of the protecting layer 106.</p>
