COMPOSITE POLYCARBONATE MOLDING EXCELLENT IN SURFACE PROPERTY AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To improve the surface hardness, mar resistance, etc., of an aromatic polycarbonate molding by forming an ultraviolet-cured film of a polyacrylate composition containing an epoxy acrylate having a fluorene skeleton on the surface of the molding. CONSTITUTION:A polyacrylate composition containing 1-60wt.%, based on the total composition, epoxy acrylate having a structure of formula I (wherein R is H or lower alkyl; R' is H or CH3; and n is 0-20) is prepared. Examples of the polyacrylates other than that of formula I include ethylene glycol diacrylate and propylene glycol diacrylate. An ultraviolet-cured film of this polyacrylate composition is formed on the surface of an aromatic polycarbonate to obtain a composite polycarbonate molding excellent in surface properties. The epoxy acrylate resin of formula I can be produced from a diol compound of formula II.
