PURPOSE:To obtain an inorganic composition having low dielectric constant and high strength and sinterable at low temperature by compounding cordierite ceramic material, quartz glass and lead borosilicate glass at ratios falling within a specific compositional range. CONSTITUTION:A cordierite ceramic material (X wt.%), quartz glass (Y) and a lead borosilicate glass (Z) are compounded with each other at ratios falling on the lines connecting (X=35, Y=0, Z=65), (X=65, Y=0, Z=35), (X=0, Y=65, Z=35) and (X=0, Y=35, Z=65) on a ternary component system diagram and in the range encircled by the lines (X+Y+Z=100). The above lead borosilicate glass is preferably composed of 50-75wt.% of silicon oxide, 1-30wt.% of boron oxide, 1-30wt.% of lead oxide, 0.1-5wt.% of oxide of a group I element, 0.1-15wt.% of oxide of group II element, 0.1-1wt.% of titanium oxide and 0.1-1wt.% of zirconium oxide. An inorganic composition having low dielectric constant and high strength and sinterable at about <=1000 deg.C can be produced by this process. |
