<p>PURPOSE:To improve the operability and serviceability of a sheet feed device by providing a directional feed frequency memory means to store the horizontal and vertical recording frequency of each rotary cassette, and performing control to cause the rotation of the cassette after determining the preferential feed direction thereof on the basis of data stored in the memory means. CONSTITUTION:At least one rotary cassette capable of rotating motion is provided at a vertical feed position for feeding sheets in a vertical direction and at a horizontal feed position for feeding sheets in a horizontal direction, respectively. Also, there is provided a directional feed frequency memory means 53a to store the frequency of vertical and horizontal feed from the cassette. Furthermore, control is performed to cause cassette rotation after determining the preferential feed direction of the cassette on the basis of data stored in the memory means 53a. As a result, operability and serviceability can be enhanced in using the cassette to serve a higher frequency of operation.</p> |
