PURPOSE:To save useless power consumption by accessing a base station for automatic position registration when a current reception electric field from the base station is larger than a preceding reception electric field. CONSTITUTION:This reception electric field value RSS1-C and a preceding reception electric field value RSS1-P are compared (ST17). The preceding reception electric field value RSS1-P is set to 0 at the first position registration after application of power to a cellular telephone set. As the result of comparison, in the case of RSS1-C<RSS1-P, the cellular telephone set reaches the standby state of (ST1). Moreover, in the case of RSS1-C<RSS1-P, the processing is advanced (ST5) to activate a transmitter and the telephone number of its own station is sent to a base station to await an ACK signal from the base station (ST6). When the call is finished, after the preceding reception electric filed value RSS1-P is replaced with the reception electric field value RSS1-C (ST18), the operating system is checked (ST16) and the telephone set restores again to the standby state to await further processing. |
