PURPOSE:To ensure the communication even when a fault takes place in a transmission line or a node of the bus type communication network. CONSTITUTION:Transmission lines 2-1-1,2 are optical fibers as transmission lines of the network, and optical branching/confluent devices 3-3-1,2 input part of the optical signal on a transmission line to an O/E converter. Furthermore, an optical switch 2-3 is a switch to interrupt or pass an optical signal and O/E converters 2-4-1,2 are converters to convert the optical signal from the optical branching/confluent devices into an electric signal, and the electric signal is tentatively stored in buffer memories 2-5-1,2. Then a control circuit 2-6 controls the optical switch based on the data stored in the two buffer memories. |
