PURPOSE:To provide a proportional counter tube whose efficiency is bettered because deterioration of ionized gas purity and spectral ghosts do not occur and whose assembling is easy. CONSTITUTION:A proportional counter tube is provided with a tubular envelope 1 having a through hole 2 and ionized gas sealed therein, a radiation entrance window 3 joined to the envelope in such a manner as blocking the through hole of the envelope, a linear electrode 4 disposed along the center axis of the inside of the envelope, and a liner 7 provided over the inner wall of the envelope except the through hole. The liner is formed by deposition over the inner wall of the envelope, and the above-mentioned purpose can be achieved.
