PURPOSE:To easily upgrade the device type of an invalid spelling corrector function to the device type of a valid spelling corrector function with the setting operation of a setting means without chaning the constitution of a ROM containing an SVC dictionary. CONSTITUTION:A word processor contains an SV dictionary 4c which decides the correctness of the word spelling or an SVC dictionary 4C which decides the correctness of the word spelling and corrects automatically the wrong spelling. Then the word processor is provided with a setting means which sets previously the validity/invalidity of the SV dictionary 4c or SVC dictionary 4C and a CPU 1 serving as a control means that carries out an operation mode to decide the correctness of each word inputted by a key operation or to decide the correctness of words and to automatically correct the wrong words based on the output of the setting means. |
