PURPOSE:To facilitate the operation in the replacement of the control rod pat tern, in a gang control rod controller. CONSTITUTION:A gang control rod operating device 1 stores three sequence information of an A type sequence for constituting an A type control rod pattern, B type sequence for constituting a B type control rod pattern, and a sequence for control rod pattern replacement. The sequence for control rod replacement is constituted of the group subsequent to the A type sequence 5 and the group subsequent to the B type sequence 5. In the replacement of the control rod pattern from the A type pattern to the B type pattern or conversely, the sequence for the control rod pattern replacement is selected, and the pattern replacement is carried out by the gang operation. The selection of the sequence for the control rod pattern replacement is permitted only in the case where the power of a nuclear reactor is over a set value as the release output of an RWM system.
