The device is formed by a single sighting apparatus equipped with coordinated femoral and tibial section units for producing coplanar sections. The apparatus comprises combinable means (A) (B) (C) (D) which can be mounted at the level of the condyles of the femur and of the tibial head in the flexion position, the said means (A) (B) (C) (D) having positional, orientational, control and guidance arrangements for concomitantly determining the femoral and tibial sections to be produced, so that the tibial section depends directly on the femoral section. <IMAGE>
