PURPOSE:To easily and accurately cut the desired area of a color picture at high speed. CONSTITUTION:A cut processing area where a cut processing is executed and a representative picture element in the picture being the object of cut are designated by operating a mouse. In a cut processing part 16, a color difference ( E*ab) between picture data (Li*ai*bi) in the designated cut processing area and picture data (L0*a0*b0) of the representative picture element, and its square value ( E*ab)2 are obtained. Then, a previously set allowance value Eth or the square value ( Eth)2 are compared. Thus, the picture element whose color difference ( E*ab) or the square value ( E*ab)2 does not exceed the allowance value Eth or the square value ( Eth)2 is decided to be the picture element being the object of cut. |
