<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate the turn-back distortion by providing a field memory, an intermediate value selecting means, an adder, a correlation discriminating means, and a signal switch. CONSTITUTION:An adder 17 which calculates an inter-frame average, a circuit 18 which detects a field difference from three field signals adjacent to one another, and a circuit 19 which detects a frame difference are provided. A correlation discriminating circuit 20 which outputs a signal corresponding to the outputs of both circuits 18 and 19 and a signal switch 21 which switches the output of the adder 17 and the output of a conventional adder 16 in accordance with the output signal of the correlation discriminating circuit 20 are provided. A motion detecting circuit 22 which detects the motion of a picture in accordance with the input of a first field memory and the output of a second field memory and a mixer 23 which mixes the output of the signal switch 21 and the output of an interpolating circuit 12 in accordance with the detected motion are provided. Thus, the turn-back distortion is eliminated and the memory capacity is reduced.</p> |
