This process is characterised in that a phenol derivative of formula: in which X denotes OH, an alkoxy, CH2OH, CHO or CO2R radical, R1 and R2 are identical or different and denote hydrogen, a halogen, an alkyl, acyl or alkoxy radical and provided that the position ortho to the OH is free, is reacted with an amine derivative containing at least one N-Br bond.
