Cleaning is done by sending alternate clean water and air pulses along the pipe. A container (1) is connected to a water source (2) through a float-controlled shut-off valve (3,4) which sets the max. water level. Fitted inside the container is an injector pump (5, 7, 8, 9) whose mixer tube inlet (8) is below the max. water level and whose output (9) is connected to the pipe to be cleaned (15). The injector nozzle (7) of the injector pump is connected to a high pressure water pump (10) whose input in turn is connected to the water source (2). When the system is turned on water is driven through the pipe to be cleaned until the container water level falls below the level of the mixer tube inlet (8), when instead of water, air is drawn into the mixer tube and pumped through the pipe. As the container fills air is once more replaced by water and the cycle is repeated. ADVANTAGE - Simple, low-cost system. Avoids use of compressor and need for air to be purified of oil.
