A first memory (2) is provided for accommodation of the input identity of an inserted CD and a repertoire memory (3) holds the input identity of the CD's in the magazine. During a test programme after playing of the last CD and before removal of the magazine out of the changer, all input identities contained in the repertoire memory of non-inserted CD's and the related titles are obliterated. USE/ADVANTAGE - Automatic control of changer and disc magazine if discs are mislaid, as often happens with player in motor vehicle.
