A crate for containers, especially bottles, has on the narrow side a grip for handling, consisting of a central vertical hollow moulding flanked by two L-shaped recesses in a mirror image to the centre line. The operator can enclose the moulding with his hand. Alternatively he can grip around the top moulding. The inside of the crate is subdivided into cells for the bottles in the usual way.
