摘要 Light transmitting prod. for use in a detector system in a radiation environment, consists of an aromatic polymer (I), consisting of component(s) (II) contg. benzyl H and at least 15 (wt.%) component(s) (III) contg. no benzyl H, (II) being styrene and/or lower alkyl-substd. styrene and (III) alpha-substd. styrene and/or alpha-substd. lower alkyl substd. styrene. (I) is in the form of fibres. The (III) content is max. 50%. (II) is styrene and/or vinyltoluene and (III) alpha-methylstyrene and/or alpha-phenylstyrene. (I) may also contain 0.005-0.20% (IV) to change the wavelength, pref. dissolved (IVA) (0.5-4%) and/or dissolved (IVB) (0.005-0.20%). Pref. (IVA) are p-terphenyl, butyl-PBD, p-oligophenylenes, crosslinked p-oligophenylenes and their derivs. with alkyl gps. at the crosslinking and alkylated p-oligophenylene; and (IVB) are 3-hydroflavone, a substd. naphthalene termed K27, 2-(o-hydroxyphenyl)-benzothiazole, BPD, TPBD, BBOT, BDB and bis-MSB. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) contg. prim. fluorescent additives (IVA) and sec. fluorescent additives (IVB) are for use as plastics scintillators, in which the (III) content prevents redn. of the light transmission after recovery when the scintillator has been exposed to radiation of at least 0.3 Mrad. The scintillators are used for detecting radiation in an environment with large amts. of radiation. They can withstand doses of 0.3-10, esp. 0.3-3 Mrad.
