The heat insulation mat is installed in the interior of a motor vehicle. It comprises an upper layer and a lower layer between which a series of plates (6) is arranged as walls to form a continuous venting channel (7). The plates are sealed at one of their ends (9) and left open at the other ends as flow passages (10) to create a meandering flow path, with connecting pipes (11) at the start and end of the flow path. USE/ADVANTAGE - Heat insulation system providing adequate protection for strongly heated parts of the vehicle floor, especially over the exhaust system, and flexible enough to conform to the floor contour.
