Painting board which retains shape with water-based paint - has painting layer bonded to carrier by water-resistant intermediate layer

In mfg. a board for signwriting, painting or watercolours, a carrier layer (4) is laminated at least on one side with drawing or watercolour paper (2) with a water-resistant intermediate layer (3). Pref. the carrier layer (4) is treated to make it hydrophobic, and laminated at least on one side with signwriting, painting or watercolour paper (2), using recycled material for the carrier layer (4) and the painting paper (2). The carrier layer (4) comprises at least 51% of the total mass of the board. The carrier (4) and paper (2) layers are bonded together by an adhesive (3). The carrier layer (4) and/or the painting paper (2) are of recycled used paper material and/or unused recycled paper. ADVANTAGE - The board material does not shrink or distort when water-based paint and the like is applied, to retain its flat shape and orientation.
