The supply voltage (UV) circuit obtains it from a higher input voltage (UE) by a pilot resistor (RV) and a capacitor (C) in series with the resistor. A switch (S) is incorporated between the latter and the capacitor. The switch state depends on the capacitor voltage (UC). Pref. the switch is broken when the capacitor voltage is greater than a preset first threshold value (US1). The switch is made when the capacitor voltage is lower than a second preset threshold value (US2). An evaluating circuit (AS) may be coupled to the switch, presetting the threshold values for the switch control. ADVANTAGE - Adaptation to voltage or current demand of consumer appliance.
