摘要 Magnetic circuits extend transverse to the movement direction. Each circuit has two air-gaps provided by a permanent magnet rotor (R) and a stator with stator pole elements (S1, S2) and an AC winding (Wi1, Wi2). The rotor has magnets offset from the radial position by one pole division and soft iron elements, with a ratio of between 4 and 5 between the magnet length and half the pole element width. Pref., the stator pole elements comprise laminations each lying in a plane parallel to the axis of the rotor, the stator winding comprising an annular winding parallel to the shaft. USE/ADVANTAGE - Traction. Simplified component configuration for transverse flux machines. High force density. Widened range of application by virtue of dia., v.p.r., rated power.
