<p>A sealing system is described for joining imperfectly abutting pipes (2), particularly pressurised pipes. The system comprises a sealing member (16), typically sleeve-like and a further member (14) that is rigid and also typically sleeve-like e.g. tubular or wraparound. The rigid member (14) may be positioned either around the sealing member (16) or within it. It therefore acts to support the sealing member (16) and/or to deflect laterally any pressure exiting from the pipes.</p> |
