<p>A constant velocity joint (110) has a low profile boot retainer (135) which seals and retains a boot (112) on the joint. The boot retainer (133) also retains the joint's internal components within the outer race (116). The low profile feature allows for the use of this boot retainer (133) when space is at a premium. The retainer (133) has an inner band (132) and an outer band (124) which sandwich the rubber or plastic boot (112) between them and provide a seal between the boot (112) and the constant velocity joint outer race (118).</p> |
