<p>The hyperthermy device which is used in particular to treat prostate affections, has a longitudinal shaft (1a) which can be fully or partly inserted from its front end into the anus. The shaft contains a heating device (5, 6, 32, 42, 52) emitting heat radiation to be directed towards the prostate. Other regions (14) of the shaft not directed towards the prostate are cooled to prevent damage to the epidermis. Moreover, the temperature is controlled by a temperature sensor (3) arranged at the front of the shaft (1a) in its region directed towards the prostate.</p> |
