<p>The use of a porous material essentially consisting of polycrystalline calcium carbonate as a three-dimensional solid support for in vitro eukaryotic cell culture, is described. The material may, for example, consist of porous coral skeleton. The resulting cell culture product consisting of such a porous support occupied by eukaryotic or prokaryotic cells, is also described. A series of different cell layers may also be grown on said support, which is used particularly for cultivating endothelial cells, fibroblasts and bone marrow cells.</p> |
