PURPOSE:To enable outputting of character information having a large number of sizes and widths, by a method wherein a dot number detecting system of a light dot corresponding to a picture image information containing a character information, and a light dot enlarging means are mounted. CONSTITUTION:Where a given line of an indication character from a character font file is required to be indicated slightly larger, detection of a dot width in a plotter (phototypesetter, etc.) and a circuit for enlargement are used. Dot information in which characters are read out from the font file are fed in order to a shift register via a paper file. When a time system data corresponding to a width (2-dot width) equivalent to a longitudinal line concerning a transverse direction scanning is detected, an enlargement information signal A is fed to an input terminal 17 of an and gate 15, and an output signal, extended by a time area corresponding to a pulse width tw, is output from an output terminal 18, whereby a width equivalent to a longitudinal line is enlarged. |
