PURPOSE:To make it possible to lessen a viewer being irritated who is waiting for a desired still picture display program when the program is selected, by displaying on CRT, etc., the waiting time momently until the program is actually received. CONSTITUTION:Decoder 1, receiving a signal regarding a still picture display program, detects a program code in each signal to send address signal ADS of contents corresponding to each program to memory unit 2 while sending reset signal RST and preset signal PST to counters 3A, 3B...3J constituting counter group 3. Except when counter group 3 operates in up-count mode, counters 3A, 3B...3J hold waiting times of respective programs varying gradually. Therefore, when a desired program is selected at a random point in time, the waiting time of the program, i.e. a signal regarding the program is sent and the time until it is actually received, i.e. until the program is displayed momently on the CRT. |
