FLAME-RESISTANT COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To provide a flame-resistant composition having a high flame-resistant effect and a low smoking effect. CONSTITUTION:The objective flame-resistant composition is characterized by adding at least 10-150 pts.wt. of the powder of an inorganic substance of formula: Mg1(CO3)m(OH)n.kH2O ((l)=1-6; (m)=1-2; (n)=1-4; (k)=0-6) having an average particle diameter of <=15mum and containing >=95% of 500 mesh-passed (<=28mum) particles to a mixture of 100 pts.wt. of polyvinyl chloride and 10-100 pts.wt. of aluminum hydroxide [Al(OH)3] or magnesium hydroxide [Mg(OH)2].
