<p>PURPOSE: To permit deflection of work rolls in a vertical direction by mutually counterbalancing the work rolls so that the constitution hardly develops trouble and is simplified, in a four-high rolling mill stand. CONSTITUTION: In the work roll assembling unit 4 at lower side, two dual-action hydraulic adjusting cylinders symmetrically assembled to the roll axial plane (12-12), are provided. An adjusting piston 14 in the adjusting cylinder 13 projects a piston rod 15 from the assembling unit 4 at the lower side in the rolling working time, and the free end part of the piston rod 15 is inserted into the work roll assembling unit 5 at the upper side and also, in the separating and decomposing time of the work rolls 6, 7, it is served to insert the piston rod 15 into the assembling unit 4 at the lower side. Further, in the rolling working time, the projecting piston rod 15" is connected with a shaft 22 softly supported in the assembling unit 5 at the upper part with a joint device 16.</p> |
