PURPOSE:To provide a water-dust proofing method of a noncontact rotary seal which has a good sealing effect even at low speed rotation or intermittent low speed rotation. CONSTITUTION:A high viscous fluid is fed out of an oil hole 1b of a tool rest body 1 and fed to a labyrinth clearance 18 (less than 0.5mm) by way of an axial pressure receiving surface with two oil grooves 1a, 16b. In addition, with low speed rotation of a turret 4 and capillarity, oil is filled up in this labyrinth clearance. Since a supply of this fluid is always carried out continuously or intermittently, dirt old oil is extruded outside with fresh oil. With this constitution, a seal surface is always made into a state of being sealed with the fresh oil and, what is more, cutting fluid and chips are prevented from entering from the outside. |
