PURPOSE:To efficiently record and erase image information reversibly by heating by recording the image information by contacting a heat recording device with an image display body and erasing the image information by contacting a heat roller with the image display body. CONSTITUTION:The head corresponding to the image information input in a heat recording device 9 is heated to a temp. within the range of from t1 to t2 with the heat recording device 9 held continuously in contact with the rear face of an image display body 1 and while the image display body 1 is being moved in the direction of the arrow. The heat recording device 9 is then separated from the image display body 1 and the heated part thereof is cooled to a temp. not above t0 to be made transparent, whereby dot-like image information is recorded on the image display body forming an opaque ground as a transparent part. The image display body 1 is moved with a freely rotatable heat roller 10 heated to a temp. of not below in contact therewith, and thereafter cooled to make its transparent part opaque, thereby making uniformly opaque the entire surface of an image display body 2 which has passed over the heat roller 10. |
