PURPOSE:To provide an energy-saving apparatus for cultivation of photosynthetic microorganisms, free from adhesion of microorganisms to light guides for transmission of light and capable of mass culture and ready operation. CONSTITUTION:In a cultivation apparatus for culturing photosynthetic microorganisms such as a photosynthetic bacterium or a microalga, this apparatus is equipped with a culture tank 1, an optical fiber 2 for transmission of the sunlight and/or artificial sunlight and plural deflectable light guides 4 connected to the above-mentioned optical fiber, inserted into the solution in the tank and capable of sending light from the side surfaces and diffusing it into the solution in the tank and has a structure 5 in which the light guides are shakable by an effect 7 of a fluid current of the liquid circulation system or by a mechanical action.
