PURPOSE:To provide the subject novel compound enhancing the sensitivity of cancerous cells including those with multiple drug resistance. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound of formula I [R and R3 are each alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, lower alkoxyalkyl or A-NR4(R5) (A is alkylene; R4 and R5 are each H, lower alkyl, etc.); R1 is lower alkyl; R2 is H, halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or nitro], for example, a 2,6-dimethyl-4(2- isopropylphrazolo[1,5-a]pyridine-3-yl)pyridine-3,5-dicarboxylic acid dimethyl ester. This compound can be obtained by making an oxidizing agent (e.g. halogen, hydrogen peroxide, N-bromosuccinimide) act on a compound of formula II. |
