<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a method and an apparatus for recording with optical beams on a thermal recording material which can record an image having a gradation property like an original image. CONSTITUTION:The thermal recording material 12 is irradiated with laser beams injected from a semiconductor laser 80. Thermal energy by exposure to light with laser beams is supplied to the thermal recording material 12 irradiated with the laser beams, and an image is recorded. At that time an exposure value of the laser beams is varied based on an image data to be inputted to a controller 20. By controlling the exposure value of the laser beams, a dye image corresponding to the exposure value of each laser beam is formed, and a gradation image is recorded on the thermal recording material 12. Therefore, an image of an appropriate density according to density to be desired of the image can be easily recorded on the thermal recording material 12 based on the image data.</p> |
