PURPOSE:To avoid the use of an organic solvent relating to a heat-sensitive recording material consisting of a dye precursor and a developer for developing the color thereof by a method wherein the particles obtained by aggregating a mixture of the dye precursor and the developer, together with water, is enclosed in a microcapsule. CONSTITUTION:Images are formed and recorded by heating heat-sensitive recording material by a thermal head, a thermal pen and laser beam to make an instantaneous reaction between a normally colorless or light-colored electron- donating dye precursor and an electron-accepting developer. To accomplish this, the heat-sensitive recording material is formed by enclosing the dye precursor and the developer together in a microcapsule. The contents in this microcapsule consist of the particles obtained by aggregating a mixture of the dye precursor and the developer, each having an average particle size of 0.1-1.0mum in diameter, and water. This permits production of the heat-sensitive recording paper capable of coating at a high temperature and speed without using an organic solvent unlike the conventional coated paper. |
