PURPOSE:To simply and rapidly measure the concn. of a sulfuric ion by applying a porous membrane having a hardly soluble salt deposited thereon to a substrate sensor constituted of an ion selective electrode. CONSTITUTION:A porous membrane 4 of a polyproplylene resin having a coprecipitate of lead sulfide and lead sulfate deposited thereon is closely bonded to the silver sulfide electrode 3 fixed to the leading end part of the cylindrical body 2 of a sulfuric ion electrode 1 so as to externally cover said electrode 3 and the periphery thereof is fixed to the leading end part of the resin cylindrical body 2 by an annular fixing member 5 while a silver wire 7 is fixed to the rear of the electrode 3 by a conductive adhesive 6. When the leading end part of the sulfuric ion electrode 1 is immersed in a sample solution, the sulfuric ion passed through the membrane 4 comes into contact with lead sulfide and lead sulfate being hardly soluble salts and a sulfur ion changes in the vicinity of the electrode 3 in proportion to the concn. of the sulfuric ion. By detecting the concn. of the sulfur ion as potential difference, the concn. of the sulfuric ion can be simply, rapidly and easily measured even when said concn. changes. |
