The method consists: - in inserting, between two sheets of rubber, a thin film of thermoplastic polyolefin, advantageously polyethylene, - in introducing the sandwich thus produced between the platens of a high-frequency applicator, and - after pressing the platens together, in generating between them a high-frequency electric field so that there is partial melting of the thin film and interpenetration of its molecules into those of the elastomer.
